A Big Thank You!

Today, it’s snickers out and high heels on.

I’m officially back to work after going through 8 days of fun and pain from the recent Rainforest World Music Festival held at the Sarawak Cultural Village, Kuching. I was working as a part-timer under the umbrella of MGK9 that been providing security services for the music festival for the last 4 years. This year was my 2nd year working with MGK9. 🙂

I know some of you are eager to see and find out more on my recent adventures and I hope you have the patience as I’m still compiling some of the pictures taken. It will be dull without some pictures, right? 😉

So to my fellow part-timer mate, if you read this post do kindly email me your pictures (taken with me of course) at ‘ladybirdakamolly@gmail.com’.

As we all (the part-timer team) are busy with our own task delegation throughout the festival, I don’t really have the time to sit down and had a good conversation with you all so I would like to take this opportunity to thank you the MGK9 part-timer team for making it possible for all of us to have and enjoy a safe rainforest music festival.

To the Sabahan part-timer team, I hope to work and meet up with you guys again next year. Despite there are few of you withdrawn last minute due to work commitment, it doesn’t dampen the spirit of others and I salute you guys for that.
Go, go, go powerpuff girl team!!

To the West Malaysian part-timer team, I believe it was a totally new experience as it was your first time visit to Kuching and also experiencing what is the Rainforest World Music Festival all about. I hope you guys would spread the word on what you’ve been experiencing and see you guys again next year (by god’s will).

To the Miri part-timer team (Curtin Volunteer group, MiriCommunity.net forum members & friends), although most of you are new, you guys were fantastic in executing the tasks and I’m proud to have you all as part of the team. Catching bunch of idiot that think can enter the rainforest festival for free was a challenging task and you guys did it (by apprehending the idiots) during the patrolling and flashing sessions. Without your support, I wouldn’t have a strong team particularly to Ian and Rayz.

To the Singaporean part-timer team, you guys have done a good job too. Standing at the front stage to ensure no crazy crowd climbing the stage was not an easy task. You guys also are willing to fly and to be with the other part-timer mates under your own expenses. I think it’s all about the rainforest world music festival ‘aura’.

To the Pinoys (Philipines) part-timer team, congrats to you all for doing a great job in controlling the front stage, the vip stage and the sound control system stage. Identifying some drunken and wild ‘idiot’ among the crowd was not easy as it requires sharp eye and you guys managed to execute that.
Bravo!!

Not forgetting to Leo (the owner of MGK9) for giving us (the part-timer team) the opportunities to feel the pressures by working hand in hand with him but also we get to enjoy the rainforest festival in our own way. My personal gratitude and appreciation too to Leo for putting the trust in me to recruit and partially in-charge of the team for this year round.
Thank you for the 3 days festival allowances and also the free transportation (for Miri part-timer team).

Last but not least, thank you to Sarawak Tourism Board for providing us free accommodation and food at Santubong Resort Hotel not to mention putting the trust on MGK9 in delivering the security services throughout the world level 3 days festival. On behalf of MGK9, it is an honor to work with such a reputable organization and looking forward to ‘serve’ you again next year. 😉

Hope to be back in action again in the next year Rainforest World Music Festival that will fall on the 9th – 11th July 2010. Till then, let’s the spirit of the Rainforest World Music Festival stay alive and based in the heart of Borneo for eternity. It is not a complete rainforest music festival if it is going to be held in the city or outside of the Borneo Island. 🙂
