Almost Spanking Week N
Anyway, we take our sweet time driving along the Miri-Bintulu highway and it takes us about 4 hours driving before reaching Bintulu town around 8pm. Well, usually it takes only 3 hours driving via the old highway and 2 hours of driving via the new coastal highway. In this case, we use the old highway, stop couple of times (to do our business), enjoying the sunset along the highway and of course the experience of driving at night time.
If the trip was on business purpose, we wouldn’t drive that slow. Trust me, it’s gonna be ‘fast and furious’. We will make it less than 2 hours. Serious!!!;)
Did I enjoy the trip?? Hell yeahhh I am…:)
Those who have night vision problem better take note of this. My advice to those who wish to experience driving the Miri-Bintulu highway, please make sure you reach Bintulu before dusk as along the highway there are no street lights available. Only upon reaching the junction to Kuching/Sibu, you’ll get to see street lights towards the town centre.
Well, the main intention going to Bintulu at the first place was to try our luck for the Petronas Walk In Interview held at ParkCity Everly Hotel, Bintulu (this is just the introduction part, guys). We checked in at Regent Hotel (based on our budget) which is about 3 minutes drive from ParkCity Everly Hotel. The room is not bad but sorry guys, I forgot to take some snaps of it as we were in a rush to freshen ourselves and off for dinner.
After dinner, we decided to check out the popular pub at Bintulu (Casablanca Pub) and glad to meet up with the previous band members who use to perform at Cheerie Beeries Club. I have to admit this pub has so much better sound quality as compared to Cheerie Beeries Club but it will turn you off when it comes to the break session of the live band performance. Why???
Simply because the selected songs are auto-run basis (they don’t have DJ) and it will pause for few second before it play the next song.
*fainted*
Come onnnnnn….imagine you were damn fucking high dancing on the dance floor, trying so hard to impress those who are watching your moves aka showing off then suddenly the music stops just to give way for the next song to be on the air. Dddaaaaaaaaaaaaaa……I rather sit and enjoyed my drink at the bar rather than sitting or do my crazy acts in front of the live band members.
My only regret is for not being able to check out on Wave Pub at ParkCity Everly Hotel as all of us need to hit the sack early due to the big interview the next day.
(now here comes the interesting part jeng jenngg jennngggg…)
*drum rolls*
The next day, felt so fresh and was so damn excited for the interview. As we were about to go in our car, my phone rang;
A shout-out to PETRONAS, take note of this… And if that walk in interview is organized by your Human Resource Dept then don’t just sit down there, go and find that responsible person for making many innocent public miserable. A damage control is required…serious…peettuuiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii ;p (ok..done with my kutuk mengutuk) Lucky that we know how to handle the un-expected situation wisely so we decided to ‘explore’ Bintulu town. We started with Pantai Tanjong Batu. The place has a similar environment to Taman Selera of Tanjong Lobang Miri. It was kinda fun to see people catching ‘belangkas’ (a crabfish species) with their bare-hand at the sea shore, probably it’s the belangkas season. The ‘belangkas’ are always found in pair (male and female) so they must be happy with the handful catch of 4 pairs of it. The one and only condominium and it’s 90% complete Uncle Tan’s ABC It wouldn’t be complete without camslutting..
I’ve eaten ‘belangkas’ before. Does it taste nice???? The answer is hell NO!!!! I seriously do not know whether to blame on how it was prepared (it was cooked with ginger and lemon grass) coz it has this strong fishy smell that makes me puke once I had my first and last scoop of it. In general, after exploring Bintulu Tumbina, Wisma Bintulu, Bintulu Golf Club, Kidurong Club, Bintulu General Hospital, UPM Bintulu Campus
Along the way to the town centre, we felt cheated. Imagine we had to drive for more than 4 hours just for that bloody interview and it was been cancel!!!! Lucky that we are have a safe journey to Bintulu just for the sake of the interview. What if things turn bad that day and we insisted to proceed with the plan just because of that bloody interview?? Hell yeahhhh it pisses everybody off!!! Such a well known big organization and it can’t even come up with a professional apology to the public.
If that bloody walk in interview was organized by your appointed manpower supply company then you better permanently erased them from your list as they give your distinguish renown organization a bad fucking name. Such cancellations are not acceptable to innocent public like me.
There a few of this man made island which I can’t figure out why it has to be there
, Bintulu Indoor & Outdoor Stadiums, Medan Jaya Centre, we decided to call if off for the day. It was more on sight seeing thingy. Overall, Bintulu have more to offer in terms of infrastructure as compare to Miri. I noticed most of Bintulu government offices are built on top of hills same goes with the new Bintulu hospital. Coollllllllllll…..
Bintulu RiverFront Esplanade

A temple under renovation

A tugboat on its way to nowhere land at the riverfront
We had our lunch at the latest happening shopping mall in Bintulu which is known as ParkCity Mall. I was told it has been open to public a month ago.

The main entrance
Another entrance to the mall
Inside the mall (Marrybrown is on the left and New World Mart is on the right towards the main entrance)
I even managed to get a hair wash hehehehe…It cost me RM12 for a normal hair wash here which include body massage. Perrggghhhhhhhhhhhh….it feels so damn relaxing and nice when your head, neck, shoulder and back been massaged gently. To get such services in Miri with my kind of length of hair (nearly reaching my waist), it cost me RM18 (cheapest) and RM25 (expensive) at my selected choice of hair saloon.
I feel so fresh and smiling all the way back home to Miri. We reached Miri around 7pm and drop by at Surabaya Restaurant for our favorite Nasi Lalapan.
Kenyang perut senang hati ehekkk…;p
*now in the midst of planning for Limbang trip* :))
