Borneo Jazz Festival 2015 : Behind The Scene Part 1

Tree Planting Ceremony
This year, the tree planting ceremony was held at Piasau Nature Reserve Park, Miri. Sarawak Tourism Board is in support of this effort by encouraging more trees to be planted at the site. The nature park was gazetted in year 2014 with the help from many organizations including petroleum companies.

60 native Sarawak seedlings known as Eugenia Grandis (Ubah Laut/Bungkang) and Pometia Pinnata (Kasai) species sponsored by Sarawak Forestry Corporations in support of the conservation of this new nature reserve. It is believed that the fruit from Pometia Pinnata species is a suitable diet for hornbills and small mammals. Fruits of Eugenia Grandis can be eaten by most birds and small mammals too.
