Borneo Jazz Opening Concert

I was greeted by Mark of Sarawak Tourism Board upon arriving Marina Bay Seafood Restaurant and passed my wristband. Very gentlemen of him to put it on my wrist, I felt like a VIP for a moment. Thank you Mark, buat selalu ya. ;p

Now, the wristband is just like a ‘passport’. A wristband will be placed on your wrist upon producing your ticket at the entrance. For as long as it doesn’t slip from your wrist, you can enter the main entrance as many times as you like.  But that doesn’t mean you can re-use the same wristband for the following day as different color of wristband will be issue on respective day of the concert.

With performers coming from around the world, I find Borneo Jazz is truly an international event. Last night, Borneo Jazz kicks off its opening concert with CQuence, a band formed by a multicultural group of friends in Miri. It is amazing to see different nationalities and personalities in this group can stay unite and result a rich blend of musical styles. I didn’t realized I was swaying my body throughout the performance. It was such a bliss! 🙂

For the record, the Opening Concert was opened to public with dinner included in the cost of the ticket. It was such a waste for you if you didn’t turn up last night so tonight make sure not to miss the first concert which will be held at ParkCity Everly Hotel. Tonight, SIU2 from China, Cunha & Piper from Brazil, John Hammond from USA and Les Doigts De L’Homme from France will be performing and mesmerize you with their traditional jazz rhythm, exciting up-tempo music with element of swing, rock, even punk and sambas.

The best of Borneo Jazz is yet to come. You’ll regret it if you have not purchase the ticket and if you have not; tickets are on sale at ParkCity Everly Hotel’s lobby.

More updates to come and hope to see you tonight.:)
