Does Your Look Matter??

Recently, I get to know someone whom I found very special in his own ways, in other word – unique.

Despite of his ‘handicap’ look which most of us would have very low self esteem when meeting people, he infact have the courage to face the cruel world out there. He moves on with his life just like us normal people with dignity and doing same stuffs like normal people does.

He goes out watching movies with friends, sometime shopping alone and he even has a girlfriend. He doesn’t have any problem at all in making new friends too.

Why am I so proud to have a friend like him??

Simply because he believes in himself and has strong inner strength. He has a charisma of his own. Though he’s six years younger than me yet he is wiser than me. I guess that’s why some used to say “The older you get doesn’t mean you are wiser”. I’m impressed!! Not forgetting he has depth knowledge of religion as well. 🙂

My unique friend here is just like other normal person till his face get burnt twice few years back (he’s a chef) and still doing the same job until today. His face is totally ‘damage’ and he’s under steroid medication for 2 more years thus darken his skin complexion due to the side effect.

I used to tease him by encouraging him to apply ‘Fair n Lovely’ skin cream on his face to whiten his skin complexion and he takes it easily by telling me that he’s a real man that doesn’t requires any of ‘cover-up’ thingy and believes it’s a gift from GOD by giving him the new ‘face-lift’.

I’m just amazed how he manage to ‘carry’ himself in public.

So, my dear blog readers…to value a relationship or a friendship, does look really matter here??

Very subjective question…if we know the person before the ‘handicap’ happened, then there will be no problem. But for those who don;t know the person first hand, and only see the ‘present’, they may judge the look first. Until some one make the introduction.

As for my self i try not to judge cause i am not perfect myself. Every time, if thoughts come into my head about judging someone, i quickly remind my self, i am not a perfect person too..and therefore should not judge any one.

As long as we are happy with who we are, don;t care how other people look at us.
