I was craving for something soupy and after accompanying Viv to shop for her stuff, we went to Viv’s favourite place for kolok mee. I don’t know the name of the coffeeshop but the coffeeshop building is located just behind Shiki Japanese Restaurant at Boulevard Commercial Centre.
It’s a corner coffeeshop and the place is always packed especially at night. There are a few food stalls operating at this coffeeshop. My girlfriends and I liked to order from this particular old lady who operates the kolok mee stall. I liked it here simply because of the flat noodle soup or locally known as ‘Bian Bian Hu’.
A simple dish that comes with minced meat, finely sliced dried squid, black fungus, mushroom (not the button mushroom type but one can get this mushroom in can) and reasonable portion of flat noodle that is freshly prepared and cooked on the spot.
As usual, we liked to order some side dishes (not that we’re great eater but we appreciate food to the fullest) to go along with our main ‘course’. We ordered the tasty, sweet and crunchy ‘Taiwan Chinese Sausage’…
…along with fish balls and deep fried cracker biscuit spreaded with sotong paste and thinly sliced sausages on it.
Should give it a try if you do happen to pass by this area in the future. For the record, this has been my 2nd time dining the same dish at the same place prior to this post write-up. I’ll definitely be back here again. 😉
