I Am Old

The other day, my brother came and visited me.
We have not been seeing each other for quite sometime as both of us are occupied with our own life but never fail to catch up via phone calls or text messages.

The first thing he said to me when he saw me was,
“Are you losing some weight? You look ‘kurus’ nowadays.”

I was smiling to the ears. I was happy as it shows my effort to lose some weight seems to work but I pretend to act cool about it. So I asked,
“Really? You think so?”

And he confidently answered me,
“Yes, you are losing some weight anddddd…”

*crickets sound in the air*

I hate it when there is un-finished sentence during a conversation so I asked,
“And what?! Say it…”

He said,
“You tend to look old though.”

Damnnnnn…I don’t know whether it’s a compliment or an insultation but one thing for sure, I just don’t like to hear the word ‘you look old’. It’s kind of de-motivating me to look even more gorgeous. 😉

Yeah, probably I’m being denial here. I just can’t accept the fact that I am getting old.

ps-still working on composing my penan research project – part 2 post. your patience & understanding is highly appreciated. 🙂

Maybe we have to change the phrase “old” to “mature” when we’re trying to say something to others… will it be a little bit better? Hehe…

anyway, i take note on that ‘old’ and ‘mature’ word whenever it is required/applicable. 😉

Ya…mature is better. Everyone grows old….no need to mention it.
