LadyBird at Creative Art Centre

these are my new pet and it cost me rm10 each

I can’t help myself for not falling in love with cute little things especially when it come to LadyBird. To keep a real ladybird as pet would be impossible as ladybird are small tiny insect and one must have sharp eye to spot them among the plants. So, when the real ladybird is transform into something that I can keep or treasured, I will go to certain extend (by all mean if it requires) to have one in my possession. 🙂

In other word, I’ll be a very happy woman if a ‘ladybird’ is given to me in exchange of ‘bribing’ me. I don’t accept flowers. Or chocholate. ;p

ladybird landed on alex's mobile phone

Anyway, the pictures of the ‘ladybird’ above are made from clay. I get to know about i-clay from the forum and from there, it lead me to Creative Art Centre. 🙂

After much of persuasion, finally I managed to get Alex (the owner)  to let go of his complete set of insects world. Normally, Alex doesn’t give away his ‘master piece’ as it would be his ‘exhibit artifact  for display purposes but because of me, he has to let go of his ladybirds to me.

*evil laugh on the air*
I’m not that mean, right? ;p

this is the insects world-alex's master piece and now its in-complete without the ladybird ;p

I found out the i-clay are very soft and it doesn’t leave any smell at all on your finger. When asked, I was told the clay are non toxic material therefore it’s children friendly. It will  not cracks after drying, easy handling and can be recycled.

The centre offers classes to those who are interested (children & adult) to learn more about the art of clay once a week for 1 1/2 hour. The classes will not only stimulating creativity & imagination, it does develop critical thinking skill too. What matter the most is, it is lively, fun, enjoyable and a way of releasing tension from hectic school or work.

To parent out there (especially to the mothers), if you want to have your own private time with your friend/husband, going for facial, manicure, pedicure, spa treatment, going for shopping spree or even a romantic t-break with your loved one, you can consider enrolling your children at the centre while you get to do your own ‘thing’ without the presence of your children. ;p

However, if you just want to gain the basic knowledge or getting the ‘feel’ of learning the art of clay, the centre also offer ‘walk-in classsession for 1 hour.

Package 2
Saturday or Sunday – 2-5pm, 1 hour/session for RM25

Creative Art Centre is not all about learning the art of clay but the centre also provide plasterine art painting which is available for children & adults. From 2D/3D designs to all plaques, from cartoon to sceneries, from sports to romance, you name it, they have it all. The best part is you can relax and enjoy painting your own masterpiece that comes in various shapes and prices (depending on the size) . The paint is provided free by the centre. 😉

Looking at the clay end results produced by the children are pretty amazing.  One would thought it is a piece of art made by grown up adults. Don’t believe me?!!
Go and drop by at the centre to find out what they have to offer you. Or give them a call. 🙂

I find my visit to the this centre was a worthwhile effort,of which in the beginning started with a brief introduction of its existence in Miri from the forum. I am the type that holding on to ‘seeing is believing’ kind of thing (not to mention hard to please too) and the effort of going down to check out the centre was a not a wasted effort after all.

I found out most of Mirian (be it the local or non-Mirian who are working here) complaint or whinning on Miri has nothing much to offer as compare to other big cities (e.g:Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur) in the forum especially during the weekend. Now, you may want to consider doing/exploring something new at Creative Art Centre.

Think about it. 🙂
