My Christmas

It has been a low key but a wonderful Christmas for me this year. I was invited for a Christmas Eve dinner at my friend’s place and I couldn’t be more than happy to be there as I would be half dead bored killing the time alone at home. We had a simple dinner yet a meaningful Christmas Eve dinner for all of us as it was my friend’s first year celebrating Christmas together as husband and wife and a baby is on the way.

As it was for me, it was an evening to forget the past and look forward for a new change in life; be it in career or be it in a relationship.

To my surprise, I received an un-expected long distance call on Christmas eve. It was all the way from Canada. I had a long chat and was thrilled, excited and only God knows what sort of feelings I’m going through on that day. There is no specific word to describe that. But one thing for sure, I felt so grateful. Thanks Uncle Lee for entering my life. 🙂

I begin to believe a saying that says ‘Give more and never expect anything in return’… I believe God has its own way of doing things and whatever that has happened; it will or has changed me to be a better person as long as I don’t expect anything in return.

On Christmas day itself, I ‘pampered’ myself with food. I don’t give a damn on my diet anymore so I ate my heart out over the foods which I just can’t resist. ;p One can’t really reject friend’s open house visiting on any festive season and it’s a culture here in Malaysia. I visited 5 of my friends (I can’t go and visit the rest as I was a drunken anaconda by then) and I was having a great time and fun. I ate and I drank like nobody business. ;p

Pampano, a Spain wine taste exactly like local rice wine aka tuak

I met up again with my close male friend after 1 year and a half being away from Miri. He is the Public Relation Manager in SolMelia Hotel, KL and soon going to transfer to Shanghai, China next year to co-ordinate the PR section over there. I’m happy that he is doing pretty well at West Malaysia and I wish him all the success in his upcoming tasks.

At one of my friend’s house

Oh ya, I got to do my manicure for the very first time in conjunction of the spirit of celebrating Christmas. Before this, I always opt for French manicure at any beauty saloon in town but this time, I decided to do it myself. Of course, it requires tans of patience, skills and efforts but satisfaction is guarantee upon seeing your completed piece of art. I received compliments from friends and it motivates me to do my own manicure in the future.

Say bye bye to the beauty saloon and hi hi to nail polish collections mmmuehehehe. ;p

My master piece ;p

As much as I had fun visiting my friends, I still have time to go for booze at the latest club in town – Island Country Club. It is located just next door to ‘The Island’ and I really like the country concept. The place is cozy, country musics on the air and suitable for closing business deal or chilling yourself after a hard day in the office.

With Fabian in blue shirt (the Manager & Bartender- my favorite cocktail mixer)

And guess what?!! For the very first time, Mirian can have the taste of KilKenny draught beer & Guiness Stout draught in town as before this the public can only enjoy this beer at the Piasau Boat Club (for members only) or the nearest clubs at Sabah. So Mirian, do drop by there one of this day if you are keen to check out on the new place or curious to find out the taste of KilKenny beer.

I hope your Christmas is also as enjoyable, meaningful and blissful as mine and I want to wish you all a happy new year ahead.

I love you all…mmmmwahhhhh!!!

Hello Ladybird, wow! It is really heartwarming to see that beautiful smile of yours, last bottom pic. You sure have one really captivating smile.
So glad to hear you had a fabulous X’mas.
I like all your pics here. You have beautiful friends. By the way, I like your blue dress very much, so feminine. You sure know your drinks too.
Looks like when we meet, hopefully soon, you can take me to your favourite Oasis where we can quench our thirst and talk like crazy on our first ever personal encounter, ha ha.
Re my phone call to you, yes, it was a real, exciting, beyond description of hearing your voice for the first time, especially someone from Sarawak and a Rose like you.
It was a real pleasure talking to you on the phone, Ladybird, and THAT was my as well your X’mas present to me, hearing your so gentle voice.
You will be hearing from me once awhile when there’s a full moon, ha ha.
You take care, and keep those smiles coming along, Ladybird. Best regards, Lee.
ps, hey, you have nice fingers. Love that nail polish.
