While covering the recent 2017 Borneo Jazz Festival, I received a whatsapp buzz from Joe. Enquired on the Sarawak Bloggers team’s availability to cover Pullman Miri’s upcoming function. I was delighted. Without any hesitation, I accepted the invitation and tag Alyssa along with me as a ‘plus one’ is allowed. That’s so generous of Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel. 😉
So, last night, the Sarawak Bloggers team with our ‘plus one’ gets to experience a pre-ramadhan dinner buffet preview cum Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel’s Client Appreciation Dinner cum the hotel’s corporate social responsibility event.
Corporate Social Responsibility
This year, to welcome the month of ramadhan, Pullman Miri Waterfront and Interhill Group hosted a pre-ramadhan dinner for children and carers from Kompleks Kebajikan Hamidah Yakup. This was the hotel’s first ever pre-ramadhan celebration after it began its operation in April, 2016.
“This pre-ramadhan dinner is part of our CSR commitment in giving back and reaching out as much as possible to our surrounding community. We, in Pullman Miri Waterfront, are honored to be able to celebrate this event together with the children and staff of Kompleks Kebajikan Hamidah Yakup in hope that it can be a great example to our children in showing them the spirit of unity and respect towards the festive season celebrated by our Muslim friends” says Mr. Jayson Chong, Hotel Manager.
Among those who were present was Miri Mayor, Mr. Adam Yii and his wife along with other guest from various agencies, members of the local media and Sarawak Bloggers’s representative.
The highlight of the event was during the green packet giveaway session to the children of Kompleks Kebajikan Hamidah Yakup. Mr. Albert Hu, Group Executive Director of Interhill Group was given the honour to distribute the green packets.
Bazaar Ramadhan Buffet Preview
As the month of Ramadhan is just round the corner, Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel took the opportunity to showcase its array of mouthwatering dishes along with local themes desserts. My personal favorites were the bubur pedas (Sarawak famous ramadhan dish, only available during the fasting month), lemang (omg the lemang just melt in the mouth, so ‘berlemak’), Shawarma (love the bun, soft and fluffy), cucur udang, varieties of kerabu and sambal (selera orang kampong you2) and many more. The ramadhan buffet spread consist of 98 different food items.
You may enjoy the delectable spread on May 27th onward where they will feature 3 menu rotations on a nightly basis until end of ramadhan. The Bazaar Ramadhan Buffet is RM98 nett/adult, half price for children aged 6-12 years old. Available daily from 6:30pm – 10pm. Wait! That’s not all.
As the month of ramadhan coincide with upcoming Gawai festival celebration, Pullman Miri Waterfront Hotel will have a 2 day Gawai Festive Buffet at Pullman Kitchen from June 1st to June 2nd. The Gawai Festive Buffet price is RM88 nett/adult and half price for children aged 6-12 years old.
