The Beginning of a Journey
Today, I was pretty tied up.
In the morning, I’ve attended a meeting with MARA Directors that flew all the way from Kuala Lumpur. The mission was to obtain a better understanding of the university handling their sponsored students whom are currently studying here. After the meeting session ends, they get to meet up, close and personal with their sponsored students for a Q & A session.
By the time the meeting ends, it was already noon time and I was already feeling really hungry. I had a quick lunch with Terry and Roy. It was my first look at the campus cafetaria ever since it gets renovated. It doesn’t impress me much as it was not 100% complete yet but it look more spacious than before.
At 2pm, I’ve attended my departmental weekly meeting (it should be held in the morning but postpone due to the MARA meeting) and had to excuse myself 20 minutes later as I had made an appointment with the Dean, School of Business pertaining to my study application. Prior to the meeting, my boss had been notified on my early dismiss and I even requested my boss to jott down the minutes on my behalf while I’m away.
Thank you boss, I love you!! (i think my boss read my blog, someone hinted me on it, gotcha!!) ;p
It was approximately a 30 minutes of consultation with the Dean and I have mixed feelings on my application status due to entry requirement and working experience issue. The Dean put down her recommendation and sent to the mother campus for further evaluation. I’m keeping my finger crossed here.
I came back to my cubicle with heavy heart. I seriously do not know what to expect and feeling very empty inside. I wasn’t sure whether to be happy or to be sad about it. Until….
…I received a text message from my dad.
“Heard that u have an offer to further your studies. Wish u the best and study hard. U will make it.”
I was really touched. I didn’t see this coming from my dad at all. I didn’t expect it at all as he’s a very serious person. Yes, dad I will make you proud. I promise. After all, the message of the day has cheered me up and I feel rejunavated again.
I think the journey of me being a student has just started.
