The Unforgettable Memories & Adventures of RWMF 09
Before this, I wrote a lengthy post on my last year rainforest music festival experience and I forgotten introducing the people who had really works hard behind the scene of the rainforest music festival.
Without them, the crowd wouldn’t have a safe and secured event.
There were no out of control crowd ‘harassing’ the performers on the stage.
There were no drunken crowds on the loose.
There were no bloody fights among the crowd.
It was a peaceful music festival in the rainforest. 🙂
There were also some tried very hard to join the crowd for free entrance.
There were also some tried very hard to ridiculous stubborn & smuggled outside food and drink.
There were also some tried to ‘touch and go’ at sexy and overly exposed ladies among the crowd.
There were also some gave their black faces and swear at us upon resisting our request as per required by the organiser.
Not forgetting working together with the PDRM (Polis Diraja Malaysia) was a rare opportunity. The MGK9 and the PDRM works closely throughout the festival.
As the part-timer team were ‘scattered’ around Malaysia, Singapore & Philippines’ that came from different working field background (education, ict & multimedia, forestry, immigration, travel agent, construction & entrepreneurs) everybody managed to gather at Santubong Resort Hotel, Kuching (the official hotel for the Rainforest World Music Festival) on the 8th of July.
I knew there wouldn’t be any chance for us to have a group photo prior to the event as everyone will have their own task delegation and will be located at various locations. So, I quickly gathered us before we went off to Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) for site briefing.
The team started the site briefing at the main entrance and along the way, Leo (the big boss behind MGK9) gave his loud and clear information on the do’s and don’t at every check points within the SCV. We were even briefed on the proper way of cleaning our hand with water or hand sanitizer provided by the organizer in line with the Ministry of Health requirements due to the H1N1 epidermic.
After the site briefing session ends (which was very tiring where we covered and explore practically the whole living museum area), I went for a dive in the hotel swimming pool to release the stress level I had.
ps – prior to the diving into the pool, i had a dozen of Big Apple Donut and managed to endulge myself ‘luxuriously’ eating durians in the hotel room mmuaahahahahha..
